Jayne Barker (nee O’Connor) is the principal of Quest Commodities.
Jayne was born and bred on a farm at Temora in southern NSW, where a passion for grain marketing derived. As deregulation of the grain industry was burgeoning in the late 1980’s, Jayne commenced a mission to find a better way to market grain. A passion for grain marketing ensued and is still the core driver for Jayne today.
Jayne attained a Bachelor of Business (Accounting and Finance) and went on to compete the Securities Institute of Australia’s Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment, while working in the financial markets in Sydney. Jayne became specialised in Ag futures, before commencing as a commodity physical and derivatives broker and advisor for FarMarCo in Toowoomba in 1996. Jayne established their regional office in Gunnedah, NSW before taking a year out to work in the financial markets in London. Upon returning to Australia, Jayne established a regional office for a cotton merchant in Narrabri before setting up her own Grain and Cotton broking firm in Gunnedah in October 2004. With over 20 year’s experience in the grain and cotton markets of Northern NSW, and with a deep passion for commodity marketing, Jayne is a premium choice to assist with your commodity marketing or procurement requirements.
Chris Johnson has many years of experience in agricultural services in northern NSW from commodity broking to machinery sales and service. Chris was born and bred in the area and has a degree in Marine Technology and Management. He has a strong customer focus and well skilled in many aspects of commodity marketing.
